[Takeru] Nothing, it just last time Shou-san mentioned about your parents run a beauty salon business, so this is going to be a heat up conversation with the hair specialist ( LOL )
[Hiroto] Ah, Really :D ? It’s true though :D I always tell the Alice Nine members, to use the shampoo series for a better result :D
—-In other words, even it’s a late start. Somehow, today Hiroto-san act like a senior (LOL)
[Hiroto] That’s because in the band, I’m the youngest :D but with Takeru the age gap isn’t too much
[Takeru] Yes, true. Still in the same generation
[Hiroto] It’s true. By the way, What is Takeru ?
[Takeru] Eh!?
[Hiroto] Ah, no no :D What I meant, at first what kind of music Takeru was listening to ?
[Takeru] Ah, so that’s what you meant by “that” :D I was surprised (LOL) I was listening to Dragon Ash-san, ELLEGARDEN-san, ORANGE RANGE-san, KORN-san
[Hiroto] So, not music from visual kei, right ?
[Takeru] Yes. Because my younger sister liked visual kei, then I started to borrow her DVD and everything else, from that day I started to knew. At first I covered songs from SADS-san, ORANGE RANGE-san, and NIRVANA.
[Hiroto] the range is quite large
[Takeru] Yes. At that time I liked so many kind of music. That because the music from Idol has a very high quality. At first I wasn’t in band, but a scriptwriter and movie shooting.
[Hiroto] Eh!? What do you mean?
[Takeru] At that time, I was bad at music.
[Hiroto] Really ? So why did u start ?
[Takeru] I got a shock after listening to hyde-san “666” album ( released on Dec 2003 ), and first time went to a live. That live was really good, and wondering if I was the one that standing on the stage like that, what kind of view will I see ? From that moment I had a thought to start a band
[Hiroto] Hee. Vocalist from the beginning ?
[Takeru] Yes, I only knew how to sing.
[Hiroto] I see. So it’s not just playing music with the band, but more likely describing the senses in music
[Takeru] That’s right. When I was little, because I liked to watch movie and reading novel so much, there was a feeling where I wanted to grow up in a world like that, and that kind of feeling linked me to the band.
[Hiroto] I see, that’s interesting. After hearing this conversation, this is exactly what Takeru’s doing in SUG. Because it works.
[Takeru] Yes. Maybe I can say that our songs based on imagination.
[Hiroto] I see. What kind of novel do you read ?
[Takeru] I read almost everything when I was little. At first it was like “Gulliver’s Travels” :D but the most I often read was a novel from Ishida Ira-san.

[Hiroto] What have you been reading lately ?
[Takeru] Recently I read “Shoujo Nanakamodo to Shichinin no Kawaisou na Otona” (Girl Rowans and Seven People Make Cute Adults) from Sakuraba Kazuki.
*Sakuraba Kazuki is a Japanese female novelist who won the Naoki Prize.
[Hiroto] Have you read any novels from Nishio Ishin-san? Like “Bakemonogatari” (The Tale of Monster).
*Nishio Ishin is a Japanese novelist.
[Takeru] Ah, I’ve heard about it.
[Hiroto] Rather than plot full of tricks, he could arrange his vocabulary into such a captivating way. Otsuichi’s work are also interesting.
*Otsuichi is a pen name of Hirotaka Adachi. He’s a Japanese Novelist who specializes on horror genre
[Takeru] Ah, I also like Otsuichi’s work. I used to read his books during senior high school.
[Hiroto] I also read his works too. In Otsuichi’s novels which one do you like the most ?
[Takeru] “Ushinawareru Monogatari”! How about you, Hiroto-san ?
[Hiroto] I liked “SEVEN ROOMS” from the “ZOO” stories.
[Takeru] The one that made into a movie, right ? It’s good ! I also like it ! I liked “ZOO” too. I found out that they made a movie from THE BACK HORN’s Movie Video “KISEKI”. Theme song of the movie version.
[Hiroto] Otsuichi’s writing style is harsh but interestingly there’s a bit excitement in it.
[Takeru] It’s true ! Hiroto-san have you read “YOICHI” from Tsunekawa Koutarou?

[Hiroto] I haven’t read it.
[Takeru] If you like Otsuichi-san, I recommend you this book ( referring to “YOICHI” from Tsunekawa Koutarou ) !! I know you’ll like it !
[Hiroto] Really ? Then I shall try to read it.

[Hiroto] Yes, we are :D But you really love novels, don’t you ?
[Takeru] Yes, I also love movies or MVs too ! When I was still in school, I used to watch the MV shows. I always watch from number 100 to number 1 !
[Hiroto] I did that too :D But around us during the school era, there were no other guys that read novels too, right ?
[Takeru] There were none. But there are lots since coming into this world.
[Hiroto] It’s true. Me before and now, always reading novels or play guitar :D because my roots are bleak ( LOL )
[Takeru] Ah, me too. But Hiroto-san is really aggressive when you’re on stage. Jumping on the speaker while playing your guitar. I was surprised when saw it for the first time.

[Takeru] Ahahaha. But true, I think you have a big physical ability.

[Takeru] Ahahaha. Everyone thinks like that. Especially band members, everyone thinks that way :D
[Hiroto] True :D Me too, when I started to knew guitar, “If I bring this, I can really be the center of the world !” that’s what I thought. The fantasizing that I do so far, have become reality. It felt that I could find a place to fulfill the dream. If I didn’t bring the guitar, I can’t be the center of the world :D I’m weak
[Takeru] I understood ! But Hiroto-san has his guitars, so it’s fine. Because I don’t have anything with me.
[Hiroto] But you have songs, right ?
[Takeru] No, what I meant, if someone asked you to show it, you can’t do it just by singing. Beside it took times to explain with words. Therefore there’s something complex.
[Hiroto] Now, Everything that Takeru done was entirely personal, right ? I think it is. Because this kind of thing that Takeru done, can’t be done by others.
[Takeru] I’m happy. Thank you ! But the source of Hiroto’s motivation makes me a bit relax

[Takeru] No no, motivation power. If that didn’t exist, I think you won’t be able to show such explosive power to the extend ( expected ). Usually if the power didn’t exist, I don’t think you’ll be able to reach the “boiling point”. Because the vibe of the feeling is too wide, I think it’s going to be a big explosion
[Hiroto] It’s true. But for me the ones that I can’t beat are Kawamura Ryuichi-san, hyde-san and seniors around their generations. Usually there’s no stage vibration. They’re natural. It’s great. For me they’re really amazing.

[Takeru] Yes, I like hyde-san too, but I don’t want to meet him though :D
—-Eh? Why ?
[Takeru] I always idolize him. You could say that I don’t want think about the person in real life :D
[Hiroto] Ah, I understand the feeling ! Because you like and also respect the person, there’s this feeling that you don’t want to meet them in person.
[Takeru] Yes, that’s right !

[Hiroto] I had a change to meet SUGIZO-san, even after the meeting I still feel nervous if I meet him, but I don’t want to act too forward even though SUGIZO-san knew that he’s my idol, I restrain myself in my part.
[Takeru] Aah, that’s cool ! Because you’re always idolizing him !
[Hiroto] Because recently I have juniors, so I want to act like a good senior. After 8 years in a band, gradually there’s this atmosphere whether you like it or not you have to stand in this perspective side called “senior”. This thing becomes a root for me to become like the person I admire, and make a connection between me and my seniors.
—-Not because of the familiar relationship between senior and junior, but as a greater presence, so you want to respect them, right ?
[Hiroto] Yes, that’s right. Because seniority isn’t just the level. But because of the root. When thinking like that, apparently there is a line that must be exceeded. A feeling about wanting to protect something.
[Takeru] I understood.
[Hiroto] I think, even if we met I won’t feel disappointed, they’re cool after all. But although we haven’t met that doesn’t mean we don’t want to meet, but I think I can’t be too close to them.
[Takeru] I understood ! Instead of saying not want to be disappointed, better not knowing at all, right ?
[Hiroto] Yes.

[Takeru] By the way, I felt disappointed once ! When Western artists came to Japan, they went to my friend’s shop. At that time, they looked confused when choosing a 6000 yen pants, then after saw the price tag, they said it was too expensive so they didn’t buy it ! When hearing that, I felt rather disappointed :D
[Hiroto] Ahahaha.

[Hiroto] We have to be careful ! Because that can be happening to us. When shopping in a store, the store keeper already knew us, because we were absolutely confused about the 6000 yen pants, in the end we said it was too expensive and didn’t buy it. Then next, when fans also come to the store, the shop keeper would say “before this, Alice Nine Hiroto came, said the pants is expensive and didn’t buy it”, right ?

Pada 15 Agustus, Alice Nine memulai bagian baru dari rangkaian tur Court of '9' yang akan membawa mereka sekali lagi mengelilingi Jepang dengan banyak pertunjukan. Dalam konser pembuka tersebut, Alice Nine tidak h

anya menampilkan lagu baru mereka, "Scarlet", untuk pertama kalinya, tetapi juga mengumumkan bahwa mereka pindah label rekaman. Jika sebelumnya mereka mendistribusikan hasil rekaman melalui Tokuma Japan, sekarang Alice Nine bersama label Universal Music, yaitu NAYUTAWAVE RECORDS.

Sebagai label mayor yang memimpin secara internasional, mungkin sang raksasa Universal akan mampu membawa mereka lebih dekat dengan penggemar dari manca negara.

Kemudian, bersamaan dengan dimulainya tur #3 mereka, band ini juga mengumumkan finalnya, yang akan menjadi sebuah COUNT DOWN LIVE.
Alice Nine akan tampil di Yoyogi National Stadium 2nd Gymnasium yang akan menjadi salah satu pertunjukan terbesar mereka

Two people with two completely different types…

—This is a thirty minutes open conversation project. Vol.1 was with Ruki (the GazettE) and Shou (Alice Nine) who’s so nervous for the first conversation was with the senior.

[Shou] That time, eh. :D yeah, I was so nervous. Because he’s a senior.

[Takeru] I know right. I admire RUKI-san very much. I really want to talk to him if I meet him, but, is he scary?

[Shou] No, he’s an open minded person, and he’s so nice. Even though I’m a junior, I talk like this, but he really has this sweet attitude. Evidently, even I grew in a vertical social life structure; it was not something that I can be proud of.

[Takeru] Ah, yeah. I understand.

—even though all of you are in the same company, but there’s almost no opportunity to see each other, isn’t there?

[Shou] No, no opportunity. Even though we frequently involved in the same events, but because we have no time to talk, so… yeah…

—In other words, this is the opportunity for Shou-kun to be able to speak with Takeru-kun.

[Takeru] Thank you! I’m so happy!

[Shou] me too. I think, you’re an interesting person. Always, I thought to try to talk properly. There’s this time in a magazine, even though I ever talked to three people with Shin (ViViD) too, I didn’t know Takeru more than that. I think; I want to know him more.

[Takeru] But, in the company, we’re only being able to receive a dinner invitation together from the senior, Shou-san!

[Shou] Ah, yes, it was. Long ago, if someone invited me, I would definitely go. :D But, because there are still a lot of extraneous things, today, I want to talk little by little.

[Takeru] Of course! I look forward to talking with you!

[Shou] I love history. In history, I thought whether Takeru was like Oda Nobunaga or not. If項羽 (read: Kou’u*) and劉邦 (read: Ryuuhou**), Takeru would definitely insisted to order his subordinate to retreat; I thought, was he the type who had the skill with same level as Kao’u or not. In Ryuuhou’s casem he didn’t have skills, but he’s the type who got a lot of favor from his subordinate, right? Because, I think to myself, maybe between me and Takeru, we have a very contrast character. What do you think? I’m the type who will see the partner’s movement first, but Takeru has more charisma, and maybe more to the dominant type.

[Takeru] Ah, how should I say it? I don’t know it for sure by myself, but I think by intuition more than any other human, yeah. Because I’m too stupid to utter something, in the end, I was just showing myself. That was how I feel it.

[Shou] I used to good in uttering something, yeah. When I was a kid, I asked too many questions about people’s face expression; there were things that I found it so hard to utter it. Because of those, I always thought, “How to express this feeling?” From there, I read a lot of books, you know. That too, even though I wanted to utter my thoughts to my partner in a smart way.

[Takeru] So that was it. People said I was not too good in uttering something, or, they said that I didn’t utter anything at all. But, when you see it from song’s lyrics, even Shou-san and me, the way we catch something as well as express something, were totally different, right.
Shou-san’s lyrics were really like outer space, there are a lot of them that giving the essence that the story was not from the real world, right. But, I was more to the real one.
Just now, after you said about contrast characters, perhaps, maybe in the company too we’re in the different types of band, right? There were a lot of differences from one band to another; but RUKI-san’s song’s lyrics were so realistic, right?
In practice, there are so many lyrics written based on things that already happened. For me, I wanted to write a lot of things that very close to my feelings, but I guess I can’t wrote the lyrics that Shou-san wrote, and I felt that it was a different thing from my sensitivity.
I thought, Alice Nine suits that kind of lyrics very much. There’s not much description in the lyrics. If I have to compare Alice Nine’s songs with movies, I think it would be like France’s movies. Even when you didn’t watch the whole movie, you can still catch the fragments.

[Shou] I see. Maybe it’s really like that, right. I didn’t expect that you can see the things about us. :D

[Takeru] I saw it! ‘Cause, when there were new releases, I would always listen to it! I always listen to company’s seniors’ and junior’s songs, you know. I saw the PV from the entire band too.

[Shou] Takeru is a greedy person in a lot of things, huh.

[Takeru] No, no, that’s scary. If I didn’t attach my antenna, I wouldn’t be able to catch anything, you know. Scared. I’m a coward.

[Shou] a coward, huh?

[Takeru] yes. Very.

—Even it didn’t look like that if you see it closely, right. But, it was so unexpected.

[Takeru] yeah, very much. :D But, in order to make my cowardice invisible, I always tried to show my influence so that I can be more confidence. :D

[Shou] I see. It’s really great.

[Takeru] Inside myself, there’s always, “In this one-man live, I want to bring myself into this level” or “In this single, I want to bring myself into this level.” I marked it, so that I can make efforts in order to face it, but I couldn’t reach the mark not even once. Because of that, I was thinking to continue the band. Now that I got the “greedy” word, I think, there’s this ‘coward’ too in it. Always, “Is it good if I do this?” ..“How can I get there?” ..“If it’s not complete, I won’t be able to get there, what should I do?” ..those were the existed cowardice, but I think there’s a part that seen as a ‘greediness’.

[Shou] so that was it. To me, ‘The person who can walk by themselves, how will they make the world able to hear their voice?” ..that kind of thing, doing a band was like to feel it. I might not able to feel it like Takeru did, I respect the attitude like Takeru’s very much, you know. For I don’t have it on my own.

[Takeru] But, because we’re humans, even when you said we’re thinking too much, well… … this was in our nature too … …
The unexpected agreement that … …

—Takeru-kun, from your point of view, how do you see Shou-kun?

[Takeru] if I see him not from my junior-point-of-view; can I say it as a listener? I’m sorry if I might say something wrong.

[Shou] No, no, it’s OK. :D

[Takeru] Shou-san, in previous supposition, “Doesn’t have any skills, but the type who got a lot of favor from his subordinate” ..earlier, you said it, right? But from my point of view,Shou-san is a massive person, and has the impression of person who protect his band. Here, recently, and even before, the feeling was so strong. The first time I listened to Alice Nine was “Kasou Musou Shi” (mini album, released in November, 2005). That time, I went to the CD store. I listened to the preview, and then I bought it.

[Shou] Oh, thank you. :D

[Takeru] Ahahaha. No, no, I think I’ve been a troublesome. :D That time, of course the songs composition, in neutrally, it has the charm to the blend concept of Western style and Japanese style.
From that moment, even thought the color of the band had already changed, I thought it was very interesting. To look at it, it was really turned into some kind of a stimulus, right?
I used to think that band was like a living thing. “Well, the band is living after all,” that was what I thought. Inside it, Shou-san was like seeing a band as whole, massive, and looked like was handling some plans. It was like that, I’m sorry, I said something impolite.

[Shou] No, no, I was really happy, you know. It’s just I didn’t expect to get any compliment. Just with honest words were already made me happy, you know. Speaking of which, at the previous talks, even though I was beaten on the wholly with the compliment about the GazettE-san :D but actually, I said like what I had in mind truly about the GazettE-san. Even when you gave the compliment directly to the person, I think, it was embarrassing; because I think the GazettE-san is a really cool band, yeah, I’ve already said it, yeah. It’s really hard for me to lie too. Because, if something is not cool, I won’t say it’s cool. It’s not a lie. Because in Takeru’s words, there’s no lie, it’s good, isn’t it? I think Takeru’s straightforwardness is so great, you know.

[Takeru] Thank you. Too straightforward, even I often got attacked too. :D ..I ever used this way of talking; the way that as if it might make others felt anxious… … it seems that I’m not good at expressing it.

[Shou] ‘Cause the level of the straightforwardness collided with other people, it sometimes can make you become the attack target, right. From that one thing only, if other people see Takeru, then I think we have proof about it. Because it’s good thing, you know. For me, because it felt so slick like eel, it’s just never receive harassment, huh. :D

[Takeru] Ahahaha. So that was it. :D Thank you. I’m happy to hear such soft words. Earlier, Shou-san said about reading a lot of books too. What kind of books did Shou-san read?

[Shou] like Agatha Christie and maybe so many more. You can call it run from the real world. I love that kind of wild world. Then, I like to read Edogawa Ranpo*) and Miyazawa Kenji**). I like abstract things. I like mystery or even fantasy.

[Takeru] I understand that fondness to Agatha Christie or even Edogawa Ranpo. I like Edogawa Ranpo so much too.

[Shou] Really. E, eh? In other words, today, I didn’t have to put too much effort to break from the inside, huh. :D

—it was because today, you can’t break it since it’s not a hard thing (lol). From the previous dialogue, I met with RUKI, “The next are Shou-kun and Takeru, right? Tell me about Shou after today’s meetings, OK? (lol)” he said it with full of interest, you know. (lol)

[Shou] no, no, it was it, wasn’t it. :D with that kind of RUKI-san, there’s this conversation about “Yutori Sedai”, right. :D

[Takeru] “Yutori Sedai”, there were a lot of people who see it as a wrong aspiration, but because you got leniency, there’s this thought about “use that leniency to own self”, right. To those people who use leniency for themselves, I think it’s reliable, you know.

[Shou] Right. It was like that, wasn’t it?

[Takeru] But, in our time, to unify so many things, I think it was when the world changed significantly, right. What we call with “Yutori Sedai” was also like that too, then cellphone that spread in short time, what I felt from those experiences, the human value was changing, right. It’s so, so, scary, right.

[Shou] It was like that, wasn’t it? We’re not that blind about the same era, but it’s more to how do we feel or to experience our own period is changing, right.

[Takeru] Yes, yes. Was that what we call with school period, because we’re still kid, right? Suddenly, the appointment that used to been said from mouth to mouth, were replaced by emails, and, because it’s already changed to time when we’re late, we can be still forgiven, right?

—Time when we’re late we can be still forgiven?[Takeru] Yes. When we have no cellphones, we weren’t allowed to be late from the appointment time. But, because the cellphones spreading and we can still send emails, when we send, “I’m sorry, I’ll be a late,” you can say it won’t be any problem anymore.

[Shou] Yeah, that’s right. :D ‘Cause I started to use cellphone when I was in high-school too, when I waited for someone for some appointment, and if the person won’t come, you just won’t know what to do at a time like that, right. :D

[Takeru] Yeah, yeah! Those kinds of changing were really happened in just half year with lots of things happened in one generation, and it’s scary, isn’t it?

[Shou] it’s the generation which change their lifestyle according to the experience, right.

[Takeru] Yes. ‘Cause when we’re in about third line generation or something, we’re absolutely going to be a digitalis generation, right! What we called with world changing was really great!
